An exploration of in between existence, where elements of past and present, merge. Images taken through Spring 2024 - April 2026.

Deanna Ansara’s installation is a tale of return, a portal into preservation where time is not linear and the eye observes with curiosity and patience.

A personal ode, in image, sound, and words, to the mountains, the sea, and cities over cities.

“Come with me through a dreamscape of this land to look beyond the surface. From New York and Detroit, in its second and final iteration, I wanted to bring this show back to where it started, to go a few layers deeper into research and self discovery.

This began as an archival imagery for myself and those I love, to document this time of exploring on my own.

A dear friend and collaborator, Elevine Berge, proposed curating this show at Cara Marie Piazza gallery in Brooklyn, January 2025 after seeing the images I was posting here and there, for friends and family.

What was meant to be a personal record was pried open, inviting others into the world I see and feel”.
